WakeTrades

Use Cases

Earn Funding With a Hedged Position Across DEXs

Soon on WakeTrades. A long on one DEX and the same short on another, so price moves cancel out and you keep the funding difference. How it will work, how an AI agent will run it, and the risks.

Soon. Not available yet: today, WakeTrades only trades on Hyperliquid. We'll announce it on the Updates page.

How Does It Work?

On perpetual futures, longs and shorts pay each other a funding fee at regular intervals (every hour on Hyperliquid). The rate isn't the same on every DEX.

Open a long on the DEX where funding is lower, and the same short on the DEX where it's higher. When the price moves, one side gains what the other loses, so your exposure to the price is close to zero. The funding difference is what you keep.

What Will WakeTrades Do?

  • Open both sides at the same size, on your own accounts.
  • Keep them equal when you add or reduce.
  • Warn you when the margin of one side runs low, or when the funding difference turns against you.

Planned with Aster and Lighter, after launch.

For AI Agents

An agent will compare funding rates, open and close the pair through the API or MCP, and follow both sides on the real-time stream.

What Are the Risks?

  • The difference can flip. Funding rates change all the time: a gap that pays today can cost tomorrow.
  • Fees. Four orders (open and close, on both sides) can eat a small gap.
  • Two separate liquidations. Each DEX uses its own price and margin rules. One side can be liquidated while the other is fine, and you're no longer hedged.
  • Outages. If one DEX stops, the other side stays open alone.

Funding isn't guaranteed income. Keep enough margin on each side for a large move.
