Switch to a Unified Account
Prudent, Balanced and Risky copy only on a unified Hyperliquid account. Switch in one click on WakeTrades, with no signature, or yourself in Hyperliquid with one or two MetaMask signatures.
On a unified account, your USDC balance is the margin for every market on Hyperliquid, including the xyz markets that list stocks, indices and commodities, like TSLA, AAPL or GOLD.
- Prudent, Balanced and Risky copy only on a unified account, with no position opened by hand on it. Until you switch, every new trade of your leaders waits: your dashboard shows a note, the bot tells you once a day, and the Orders page shows Needs a unified Hyperliquid account.
- Advanced copies on a standard account too, except the xyz markets: those trades are skipped until you switch.
Your USDC stays on your Hyperliquid account and nothing changes on WakeTrades.
Switch in One Click on WakeTrades
Click Switch to Unified: in the note at the top of your dashboard, next to a skipped trade on the Orders page, or under the bot's message in Telegram. When you sign your trading key, the box Also switch my Hyperliquid account to a Unified Account does it at the same time.
WakeTrades switches the account with its trading key: no MetaMask signature, and your USDC stays on your account. On Hyperliquid, your USDC moves from your Perps balance to your Spot balance, where it backs every market. You can switch back any time in your Hyperliquid settings.
If Hyperliquid refuses, switch it yourself below.
Or Switch Yourself in Hyperliquid
Before You Start
- Use the same wallet as on WakeTrades, in MetaMask.
- You'll sign once or twice in MetaMask. Signing is free.
Steps
- Open app.hyperliquid.xyz and connect your wallet.
- Click Portfolio at the top of the page.
- Open Account Type.
- Select Unified Account (Recommended), click Confirm, then sign in MetaMask.
If Unified Account Is Already Selected
Hyperliquid selects Unified Account by default, even on an account that never saved a choice and still keeps separate balances. If it's already selected and WakeTrades still says your account isn't unified:
- Select Manual, click Confirm, then sign in MetaMask.
- Open Account Type again, select Unified Account (Recommended), click Confirm, then sign in MetaMask.
If the button says Establish Connection instead of Confirm, click it and sign in MetaMask first: it only connects your wallet to Hyperliquid's site. Then make your choice and click Confirm.
You don't need Portfolio Margin: it's an advanced mode, in beta, where assets can be borrowed with interest.
Check on WakeTrades
New trades from your leaders are copied within a few minutes of the switch, stock, index and commodity trades included. Your dashboard then shows Your Hyperliquid account is now a unified account; this note can take up to an hour to appear.
Trades skipped before the switch aren't copied afterwards: WakeTrades only copies a leader's new trades.
Common Questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Do I lose anything? | No. Your USDC stays on your account; Hyperliquid shows it as one balance for all markets. |
| Can WakeTrades switch for me? | Yes: Switch to Unified does it with your trading key, without a MetaMask signature. It's the only account setting WakeTrades changes, and only when you ask. |
| Can I switch back? | Yes, the same way: choose Manual. New copies will wait again at Prudent, Balanced and Risky, and stock, index and commodity trades will be skipped at Advanced. |
