Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers about copying Hyperliquid traders with WakeTrades. For step-by-step guides with screenshots, see the Docs.
Getting Started
What Is WakeTrades?
WakeTrades copies the Hyperliquid traders you choose onto your own Hyperliquid account, 24/7, at the exposure level you pick. It copies perpetual futures only; spot trades are not copied. It is non-custodial: your funds never leave your account, and our key can trade but never withdraw. You follow and control your copies from your dashboard and from our Telegram bot.
Once a month, subscribers get our Monthly Report, available only on WakeTrades: up to 5 Hyperliquid traders worth copying for each exposure level, ranked on what a copy would have made.
What Do I Need to Get Started?
MetaMask (the browser extension on a computer, or the MetaMask app on a phone), a Hyperliquid account with USDC on it (Hyperliquid only accepts a trading key from an account that has received a deposit), and, if you like, a Telegram account for alerts: you can skip it and keep your alerts on the site (an AI agent links a webhook or Telegram). Then the address of a trader to follow, your leader.
Where Is WakeTrades Available?
Everywhere except in restricted jurisdictions: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, Ukraine, Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, and other countries under comprehensive sanctions. Using WakeTrades from these places, or for a person from them, breaks our Terms of use, and a VPN doesn't change that. We don't block by location today, but we close access when we find out, without a refund.
AI Agents
Can an AI Agent Use WakeTrades?
Yes. WakeTrades is Agent First: an agent with its own wallet can sign in, choose traders, sign the trading key, pay and control copying through our public API or MCP server, with alerts by webhook and no human step. Its funds stay on its own Hyperliquid account. To start, see WakeTrades for AI Agents in the Docs.
Keeping your USDC in MetaMask? Connect your AI agent from your Profile: one free signature gives it a code to follow and manage your copying. It can never withdraw or pay, and you can disconnect it in one click (Connect Your AI Agent).
Your Key & Security
What Can the WakeTrades Key Do on My Account?
It can place and close orders for your copies, nothing else. It can't withdraw or transfer your funds: your money stays on your own Hyperliquid account. The key is valid for 180 days; you sign a new one from your Profile when it's about to expire.
How Do I Revoke the Key?
Any time, on Hyperliquid › API, where it appears under the name “WakeTrades”. Copying stops as soon as the key is revoked.
Exposure Levels & Copying
What Are the Four Exposure Levels?
- Prudent — Up to a quarter of every trade, across 3 leaders. Your balance comes first. Copies 25% of your leaders' trades across 3 leaders (each leader at 1/12 of their position, scaled to your balance), adds and reductions included; up to 3 leaders; total exposure up to 3× your balance; drawdown alert at −8% (heads-up at −6%).
- Balanced — Up to half of every trade, across 3 leaders. Moderate swings, in both directions. 50% across 3 leaders (each at 1/6 of their position); up to 3 leaders; total exposure up to 10× your balance; drawdown alert at −20% (heads-up at −15%).
- Risky — Up to full size, across 3 leaders. Your leader's losses are yours. 100% across 3 leaders (each at 1/3 of their position); up to 3 leaders, at least 2 strongly recommended because with one leader an account can be wiped out; total exposure up to 20× your balance; information alerts at −30% and −50%. Your balance should be money you can afford to lose.
- Advanced — Every setting is yours. You are on your own. Every plan, free trial included. It starts with Risky's settings, and you can change the size of your copies, follow up to 5 leaders, set the total exposure cap (or none), a maximum of open positions, the alert thresholds, an automatic stop that closes every copy and pauses copying at the drawdown you choose, and whether adds and your leader's take profit and stop loss are copied.
Every level copies your leader's opens, adds, reductions and closes in proportion, with their take profit and stop loss; WakeTrades adds no stop of its own (only Advanced's optional automatic stop). Following fewer than 3 leaders lowers your exposure, it never concentrates it. Drawdowns are measured from your account's highest balance, and an alert never pauses copying by itself: it comes with one-tap actions (close losing positions, close all, pause new copies, do nothing). Each coin is held once. When a limit is reached, a new trade of your leader is skipped and the bot tells you (at most once a day).
Prudent, Balanced and Risky copy only on a Hyperliquid Unified Account in cross margin, with no positions opened by hand on it: otherwise your real exposure is unknown, and new copies wait. Advanced copies on a standard account too, except stock, index and commodity markets (xyz), which need a Unified Account.
You can change your level any time, in Settings or in the Telegram bot. Open copies keep the rules they were opened with.
Which Positions Are Copied?
Perpetual futures only (Hyperliquid's main perp market and the xyz stock, index and commodity perps): spot trades are never copied. Only the trades your leaders open after you start. Positions a leader already holds are not copied. You can follow up to 3 leaders (2+ recommended on Risky, up to 5 on Advanced); when two of them open the same coin, the first one to open takes it. If you move to a lower level, the leaders beyond its maximum are paused (still listed, grayed out) and resume when you move back up.
Can I Trade by Hand on the Account I Copy With?
No. At Prudent, Balanced and Risky, a position opened outside WakeTrades puts new copies on hold, because your real exposure becomes unknown. That includes positions opened on Hyperliquid, in MetaMask Perps or in another app: they all trade the same Hyperliquid account as your MetaMask address. To trade by hand, use another MetaMask account.
How Do Stops and Liquidation Work?
WakeTrades adds no stop of its own: at every level, your copy gets your leader's stop loss and take profit, at the same price (on Advanced, you can turn this off or set an automatic stop for the whole account). Without a stop from your leader, a position can be liquidated. If you change or remove a stop yourself, that copy is treated as yours from then on.
How Do I Pause Copying or Close Everything?
Pause Copy stops new copies; open positions are still managed (stops and your leader's exits). Close Everything closes all copied positions at market, then pauses. Both are on your dashboard and in the bot (Controls).
Pricing & Plans
What Does WakeTrades Cost?
One flat price: 19.50, 49.50 or 79.50 USDC for 1, 3 or 6 months (founder price, 50% off our regular prices of 39, 99 or 159 USDC; limited seats; kept as long as you renew before your plan ends, the regular prices apply if a paid plan lapses). We take 0% on each copied order. Hyperliquid's own trading fees still apply, as on any trade you place there.
How Does the Free Trial Work?
14 days, starting when you link your Telegram or choose Skip for now (an AI agent links a webhook or Telegram). No payment to start. If you pay during the trial, your plan starts when the trial ends: you lose no trial day. One trial per wallet and per Telegram account.
What Is the Monthly Report?
On the 1st of each month we publish, for the month just ended, up to 5 Hyperliquid traders worth copying for each exposure level: Prudent, Balanced and Risky. Traders pass our filters first, then are ranked by what a copy would have made over 90 days; no scalpers. Each one shows its type (swing or day), win rate, profit factor, trades per month, holding time and positions open at once. The report also shows the month's highest returns, and an Add button to follow a leader straight from the page.
Included in every paid plan. During the free trial, you see each list with its win rates, profit factors and simulated copies. Names, addresses and trader details unlock with a plan. Statistics on public data, not advice: you choose your leaders.
Your Account
How Do I Delete My Account?
From your Profile. Before deleting, put your own stop on each copied position or close them: once your account is deleted, nobody manages them. Your WakeTrades data is erased; remember to revoke the key on Hyperliquid › API.
