Manifesto
A note from the founder: who is behind this non-custodial copy-trading tool for Hyperliquid, why it was built, who it is for, and what we ask in return.
WakeTrades' Founder Background
I have been in crypto since 2012. Back then, we bought bitcoin and didn't know what to do with it. I played Satoshi Dice and lost some of it, stupidly. I had funds on Mt. Gox: I am one of its creditors.
Since then, I have adapted to every phase of adoption and to every new platform. I started margin trading in early 2019. Fees were huge and left traders very little room. Honest platforms were rare, and many of them no longer exist.
I have made money and I have lost money, sometimes a lot of both. I have been early, and I have been late. I have watched exchanges disappear with their users' funds, bull runs turn into years of silence, and strategies that worked for months stop working overnight. Each time, the only way through was to adapt: new markets, new tools, new ways of reading price, and, these last years, new ways of building software. It taught me a lot.
Why I'm Anonymous
You may wonder why I don't give my identity. I remember clearly what drew me to Bitcoin: no one knew who Satoshi Nakamoto really was. No one could judge him or them on race, gender or social status. It doesn't matter. We are all Satoshi!
Same for me: who I am doesn't matter. I don't need to be recognized. Judge WakeTrades on what it really does.
I also live in jurisdictions that are not crypto-friendly, where the laws ask for more surveillance and more KYC every year. The internet is free. Crypto is free, and it should be open to everyone. That is why WakeTrades has no KYC. We don't ask for your name, your phone number or any ID, and your email is optional. It will stay that way.
The Market Has Changed
What I see today is a market that is harder for individuals than it used to be. For almost two years, there has been far too much manipulation, by market makers and by insiders. Insiders move before the news. Market makers hunt the obvious levels. Much of what you read is fear or hype that someone paid for. And now hedge funds are deploying capital on decentralized exchanges, with research desks, data feeds and execution tools the average trader never sees. Which is why today, it is very hard for a small investor to get an edge.
One Playing Field for Everyone
This is what crypto gave all of us: on a public blockchain, everyone is on the same playing field. The hedge fund and the retail investor trading from his phone should have access to the same data. That is what matters most, and it is one of the reasons I built WakeTrades. The data is public. The small investor was missing the tools to use it.
Time for Retail to Wake Up
Today, people talk about tokenized assets. Crypto is mainstream, and more and more institutional. But it got there because of the regular Joe: the one who believed, got laughed at, got scammed, and held anyway.
With public blockchains and open data, retail has to wake up and take back its place. I am building WakeTrades to help bring back the era of the retail investor. This technology is changing the world, and it is for everyone.
What WakeTrades Is
WakeTrades is the set of tools I built for myself, opened to other traders.
- Follow the Hyperliquid traders you choose, on your own account, with each copy kept inside risk limits you understand.
- Keep your funds where they are. Our key can trade, never withdraw.
- Pay one flat price, not a percentage of every order.
- Read, every month, the report I would want on my own desk: which traders are worth following right now, measured on public data, and what the month did to them.
How it works, step by step, is in the Docs.
I built what I could not find elsewhere. Judge it on three things: one flat price with 0% on each copied order, one exposure level instead of ten settings (and Advanced, if you want them), and a monthly report built only on public Hyperliquid data, where every figure can be checked.
Copying Is Not Enough
Unfortunately, what most people new to trading lack is risk management: how much to put on each position. Copying the best trader is not enough. You also have to manage your risk exposure. Done right, it lets you stay in a trade for a long time, even one that didn't look obvious at first, and win it.
A Product, Not a Feature
On most platforms, copy trading is a feature inside a bigger product. For me, it is a product of its own. What you can do with it today, besides copying the best traders on Hyperliquid:
- Copy your own accounts: one account trades, the others follow, each at its own size.
- Copy stock, index and commodity perps.
- Get a Telegram message on every move of the traders you follow.
- Replace a signal group with real trades you can check on-chain.
- Let your AI agent run it for you.
Why WakeTrades Is Agent-First
The writing is on the wall. There is already more bot traffic on the internet than human traffic. Agents are now easy to build, and ChatGPT and Claude made them mainstream. Soon, there will be ten times more agents than humans online. I expect each person on the web to have two or three agents working for them. And there are also 100% autonomous, self-governing agents that are not accounted for.
So agent-first was not optional for WakeTrades, whatever your view of tomorrow's world. I see agents as a tool. Trading has always moved with innovation, and the next logical step is robots trading with each other more than humans. Most trades are made by robots already.
Something else changed this year. AI agents are no longer a toy for developers: the general public is adopting them, fast. An agent can now browse, read the documentation, sign, act for the person who deployed it, and even act for itself.
I have come to see it as likely that a large share of WakeTrades users will be agents, deployed by individual investors who are always looking for an edge in markets that are sometimes irrational. So WakeTrades is built for them too. An agent can do everything a person can through our API and MCP server, under the same rules and the same limits.
Who It Is For, and Who It Is Not For
This is not a memecoin copy-bot, and it is not a signal group. Those products exist for a different game, and I don't judge the people who play it. WakeTrades is for serious traders: people who manage their own money, who want the kind of information a hedge fund has, and who would rather pay a fair fixed price than a fee on every trade. Every new release will go in that direction: more of what a professional desk has, in a form one person can use.
I was fortunate enough to discover crypto early and to grow up with it. I have always wanted to build products for people. I love builders who have a vision and share it. WakeTrades was built in that spirit.
I first built it because I needed it. I open it to the public because I remember how it feels to trade without an edge.
What I Ask From You
Use it. Tell me what is missing, what breaks, what you would change: every message is read by me. And if it earns its place in your routine, support it: subscribe for at least one month, or recommend it to one trader who would benefit from it. I hope this is the start of a great adventure, and that you will be part of it for as long as possible.
