# Connect Your Wallet

> Sign in to WakeTrades with MetaMask, on a computer or a phone. Signing in is free and sends no transaction.

WakeTrades works with **MetaMask**. Use the wallet that holds your Hyperliquid account: your copies are placed on that account.

## On a Computer

1. Install the [MetaMask extension](https://metamask.io/download/) if needed, and unlock it.
2. On the home page, click **Connect wallet** (top right, or under the three steps).
3. In MetaMask, choose the account you use on Hyperliquid and approve the connection.
4. MetaMask then asks you to sign a sign-in message. It's free and sends no transaction.

You stay signed in for 7 days on this browser. **Disconnect**, top right, signs you out. **Profile › Sign out of all sessions** signs out every browser and AI agent signed in with your wallet, this one included.

## On a Phone

- **From your phone's browser:** tap **Connect wallet**. The MetaMask app opens: approve, then come back to your browser and tap **Sign in**. The app opens once more to confirm.
- **From the MetaMask app:** open the site in the browser built into the MetaMask app, then tap **Connect wallet**.

## If Your Account Has No USDC Yet

The banner *“This wallet has no margin on Hyperliquid yet”* means your Hyperliquid balance is empty. You can still choose your exposure level and your leader. Deposit USDC on Hyperliquid before you [sign the trading key](https://waketrades.com/docs/getting-started/sign-trading-key.md): Hyperliquid only accepts a key from an account that has received a deposit.

## Messages You May See

| Message | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| MetaMask isn't installed in this browser. | Install MetaMask, or open the site in the MetaMask app. |
| You declined the request in MetaMask. Nothing was signed. | Click **Connect wallet** again and approve. |
| MetaMask didn't respond. Unlock it and try again. | Open MetaMask, unlock it, try again. |
| You're accessing WakeTrades from a restricted jurisdiction. | WakeTrades isn't available there: you can sign in, but no action is possible. See [Where Is WakeTrades Available?](https://waketrades.com/help#where-is-it-available) |
